There are now nearly 40 people walking with the group at various times o the year, with many people from the village and other churches joining us regularly.
We aim to organise eleven walks during the year, plus a long weekend away in May or June. In total, up to last month the group have held 210 walks since George Wilson first organised a monthly walking programme over seventeen years ago.
We had a very successful weekend in Dovedale in May, which was attended by 30 people. Looking ahead we have a weekend on the Long Mynd planned for the coming May.
We aim to lead a mixture of walks varying from Easy to Moderate to Strenuous, trying to provide something for all capabilities. In December we have a short easy walk followed by Christmas lunch in a suitable hostelry, which this year was at the Bickerton Poacher after a short walk over Raw Head and the Sandstone Trail.
Everyone is welcome to join us, we are a very friendly lot and happy to share transport with those who come alone or without a car.
