St Philip’s Walking Group
The group continues to be very strong with over 30 signed up members. We continue to have a walk every month and try for a mix of easy, moderate and more challenging walks. This year, 2018, marks the 20th anniversary of the formation of the group, which was originally set up by George Wilson, a former lay reader at St Philip’s who many will remember.
Last May we held our usual walking weekend away at the HF Holidays centre in Church Stretton which was very successful and have another weekend planned for 2018 in the Yorkshire Dales.
In December for our Christmas walk and lunch we ate at the Fox and Barrel Restaurant in Cotebrook and walked on Budworth Common in the snow.
Membership is varied, including members of St Philip’s, Kelsall Methodist Church, the local Catholic Church, St Helen’s in Tarporley and several church fringe members and village residents. Everyone is welcome to join us, we are a very friendly lot and happy to share transport with those who come alone or without a car.
